Planted architectural device for pre-treatment of greywater
Research project/ 2021-2022/ Aigo promotion/ Arsenal Pavilion
WALL combines the load-bearing function of the wall with the vital function of the water descent, and offers a hybrid response to the two main issues of our time: biodiversity and climate.
WALL is an architectural product: a filtering, porous and oozing wall, a vertical irrigation which pretreats and regulates the greywater of a building while providing the city with natural air conditioning.
In your new home, the washing water is returned directly to the exterior walls. To benefit from the refreshing virtues of this irrigated facade and allow a microfauna to grow under your windows, avoid emptying your oil in your bathtub, reduce your amounts of laundry detergent and dish liquid, prioritize organic shampoos. Follow these simple recommendations in your condo rules.
This project, supported by AIGO promotion, won the FAIRE competition at the Arsenal Pavilion in 2020, with a combined grant of €52,000 to build 2 prototypes in 2021 and 2022.
